I am excited to go to this! LAMA held its first auction on October 10, 1992. Twenty years later, they are celebrating LAMA’s history with a landmark auction of exceptional Modern Art & Design spanning the 20th century.

Highlights include a rare selection of works by Richard Pettibone, an original work on paper from 1956 by Sam Francis, an early monumental coffee table by George Nakashima, an original work by Andy Warhol, and a collage by Yayoi Kusama.

“Our first sale was packed with over 200 people, standing-room only, and in fact, we had to have a porter and a video monitor on the side walk to be able to collect bids from people who could not fit inside the room. After this first auction, I shut down the retail space with my brother on La Brea; it was obvious that auctions would be our future.”
- Peter Loughrey, Founder of LAMA and Director of Fine Art
